Richard Bauckham

Richard Bauckham (syntynyt syyskuussa 22, 1946) on Uuden testamentin eksegetiikan tutkija, joka toimii nykykään tutkijana Ridley Hallissa, Cambridgessa.

Elämä ja ura

Richard Bauckham (M.A., Ph.D. Cambridge; F.B.A.; F.R.S.E) toimi vuoteen 2007 asti Uuden testamentin eksegetiikan professorina St. Andrews yliopistossa Skotlannissa. Hän jäi virastaan eläkkeelle voidakseen keskittyä tutkimukseen ja kirjoittamiseen ja toimii tällä hetkellä tutkijana Ridley Hallissa Cambridgessa.

Hän syntyi Lontoossa 1946, opiskeli Cambridgen yliopistossa historiaa. Hän opetti teologiaa Leedsin yliopistossa ja Manchesterin yliopistossa (1977-1992). Hän toimi professorina St. Andrews yliopistossa 1992-2007.

Tutkimusala

Bauckham on julkaissut tutkimuksia Uuden testamentin eksegetiikasta ja varhaisen kristinuskon historiasta. Hänen nykyiset tutkimuskohteensa ovat Jeesus ja evankeliumit, Uuden testamentin kristologia ja Raamatun merkitys ekologialle.
